Saturn Booksellers, Gaylord's hometown bookstore right in the heart of the Alpine Village, is a general, independent shop for readers of all ages. An eclectic atmosphere (think chalkboard walls and a coffee shop in a log cabin built right into the store...), a friendly, knowledgeable staff composed of true bibliophiles, a wide selection of books and related goodies, a full calendar of events, new, free wi-fi and a real sense of fun make Saturn Booksellers a destination for locals and tourists alike.
The bookstore was named the 2007 Michigan Retailer of the Year! The award is given annually by the Michigan Press Assn. and the Michigan Retailers' Assn. and is based primarily on community involvement. Congratulations to all of our awesome booksellers!
On behalf of my staff and myself, welcome to our 'virtual store.' We hope you enjoy shopping Gaylord's hometown bookstore 24/7. As always, your loyalty is invaluable to us! Jill Miner, owner

Searching for Paradise in Parker, PA
by
Radish, Kris
Kris Radish, one of our favorite and most crazy-fun authors, turns her attention to relationships once again in her latest novel.
Addy Lipton is excited when her husband, Lucky, wins a trip to paradise – aka Costa Rica – because she hopes it will help them to rekindle the spark and turn their marriage around.
But when Lucky fractures his back loading their luggage into the truck, the Liptons are in for their version of hell instead. They separate, and Addy decides she’s going to revive her dreams – and in typical Radish style, she does so with the love and comfort of her women friends in Parker, PA.
Pretty soon the Parker men are put on notice that if they don’t step up to the plate soon, their wives and girlfriends might just revolt en masse. Eventually the whole town learns that to reach the real paradise, you don’t even have to leave home.
Whether you’ve taken our word for it and devoured Annie Freeman’s Fabulous Traveling Funeral or Kris’ three other novels or not, you can’t go wrong when you search for paradise in Parker, PA! --Jill |

Mistaken Identity is the amazing story of faith and love that surrounded the tragic accident in which Gaylord's own Whitney Cerak was presumed dead. To support the Cerak and Van Ryn families, Saturn will make a donation to the UP Bible Camp's Retreat Center Building Fund for each autographed copy of the book we sell in the store or via email.

Girls in Trucks
by
Crouch, Katie
This first novel by Katie Crouch turns the high-fallutin' notions of Southern debutante culture on its ear with a dark and frankly sexual tale of awakening. A page-turner by every account, Girls in Trucks blends steamy scenes and heartbreak with an infectious, dreamlike prose, to deliver a graceful work of literature--not to be read while wearing white lace gloves!--Kevin Hunsanger, Green Apple Books (San Francisco, CA) |
